Criteria for Advancement, Demotion, and Expulsion

Criteria for Advancement

Average Score of Midterm and Final Examinations: over 70
Attendance Rate: over 90%
Students who meet only one of the above criteria will not be eligible for advancement.

Criteria for Demotion

Attendance Rate of the Entire Semester: below 90%
Grade of the entire semester: below 70
Students who have been demoted 3 times are expelled

Criteria for Expulsion

Students who do not show up after classes have officially begun
Students who have received 3 warnings for absence
Students with an attendance rate below 50%
Students who returned to their home country without reporting their leave. (When temporarily returning to ones home country, students are required to report to their homeroom teacher and submit a copy of their flight itinerary.)
Students who damaged KHU's reputation through misconduct or use of violence
Students who disturb the learning environment
Students who need a suspension through Korean teacher meeting

Warning

Students who do not follow policies of ILE and South Korea
Students who needs a warning through Korean teacher meeting

Absence Report

1) Proof for absence report

Illness : Medical Certificate, Medical Confirmation, Prescription
University interview or university application : Admission slip
Death of immediate family : Death Certificate

2) Procedure

Get and Absence Report Form from the ILE office and fill in. Submit the form with the relating proof to your homeroom teacher.

3) Notes

The report of absence should be submitted by the Friday of the week you were absent (If you were absent on Friday, please submit required documents by Monday)
Excuses not accepted for absence report : Preparing for documents needed for university admission, attending admission information session of universities

Withdrawal

1) Students who want to drop out of school consult with Korean homeroom teacher first and get a Withdrawal Form from the office and fill in.
Submit the form to the office with the confirmation of homeroom teacher and the dean.
2) If there is an amount to be refunded in accordance with the refund policy, fill out the Refund Application form and submit it together.
3) Submit a copy of the return flight ticket (ticket with departure date within 14 days) to the office.
(D-4 visa holders must return home within 14days after applying for withdrawing.)

★ Required documents : Withdraw form, Refund form, Copy of Passport or Copy of ARC, Copy of Flight ticket, Letter of Authorization and copy of Acceptor ID card (If the account to be refunded does not belong to student)
